Another frustrated user of Trenitalia ... any advice?
OK, so I registered on the site, which was easy enough. My purpose in registering was to book tickets for my son and his girlfriend, who will be traveling from Rome to Venice and Venice to Milan in June.
I provided credit card information and booked the first trip, and without ever being asked for the names of the passengers, the booking was confirmed for "Mr.and Mrs. MyLastName". I tried to go into the "Change your Reservation" menu, but it seems to only allow a change in day or time of your trip, and there's no option to change the names on the reservation ... plus once you get to that particular page, everything changes back to Italian, with no way to get back to English unless you start over at the home page.
I went back through the menu, and do not see anywhere that the names of the travelers are requested ... am I missing something here? I do not want to send my son with reservations under my and his mother's name, and then him have a problem on the train because then names won't match their passports.
I've since sent an e-mail to Trenitalia asking for assistance, and haven't had a response yet ... and I'm sure the credit card will be charged in any event. Any suggestions?

Hi Ira - I did get an e-mail with a confirmation code, and that's what I used to try and change the reservation ... to no avail. Hopefully, I'll get a response to my customer service e-mail, and be able to work it out.
Did I miss something, or is there no way to identify the correct names that should appear on the tickets?

It's been over a week, and I've received no response to 2 e-mails sent to Trenitalia. In the meantime, the ticket charges did hit my son's credit card.
Based on what has appeared on a similar tnread here about Trenitalia, the names on the confirmation are not a big deal, so hopefully my son will not run into any problems when he gets there.
Still, it's disconcerting that they don't answer a simple e-mail ... but it is Italy after all.

Larry,
I booked our tickets on the Trenitalia website for myself and my husband, two different times. We don't have the same last name and I didn't bring our marriage license or anything. We were never asked to show identification. I think your son will be fine.
