Airplane Tickets to Florence

Hello -My husband and I are planning a trip to Florence the first two weeks in October. Do you recommend that we purchase our airplane tickets now, or would it be better to wait until we are closer to the time? Right now I am finding flights from Raleigh NC to Florence for about $924 --I do not know if that is a good, bad or average price!

Thanks for your input.

Hi pr,

For October, I suggest waiting until mid-Jan to mid-Feb.

I would expect about $75 pp reduction.

What I would do is to sign up for e-mails from the airlines that serve this route: Delta and Alitalia fly from New York, not sure where you will leave from. Then you will get news of any sales that they are running and can take advantage. Another option is to just keep checking websites..

Be sure to check alternate (possibly lower) fares if you choose to land in Pisa. Reaching Florence is easy: just take the train from Pisa airport to Pisa central station, then catch one of the many trains going to Florence.

You can download up-to-date timetable from here (PDF):
