Travel from Florence to Pisa airport?

What's the best way to get from Florence to Pisa airport? Is a taxi reasonable?

We recently landed in Pisa and took the direct train located right at the airport to S.M. Novella station in Florence. Same train makes frequent returns to Pisa Aeroport. Journey is about 1 and 1/2 hours. Will cost much less than a taxi and is a very easy trip. Check www.fs-on-line.com for more information.

don't know about Taxis but it's probably 30 miles or so. Trains go direct at least hourly from Florence right to the Pisa airport, so that's probably not only the cheapest but best way to go. The airport is at the end of the line, just after the Pisa Centrale station. Fare is probably less than $10. Railpasses valid in Italy valid; a Treinitalia line.

The distance between Florence and the Pisa Centrale station is 81 KM or about 48+ miles from Florence by train...I'd forget the taxi. There are various direct trains from Florence direct to the airport in Pisa, otherwise you can change in Pisa.
I agree with the above that this is a very easy and relaxing trip to do and takes 1 hr 37 minutes.

It's very simple to just purchase the tickets at the train station on your day of travel. No need to prepurchase your tickets.
