Just stayed at the Hotel Du Danube. It was quite nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were a niece size, as were the beds. I don't think any have a balcony nor do they have a wonderful view. Most open onto small interior courts. They have an elevator but our room had no ac. Lots of restuarnts and cafes. Close to the river and the Louvre

We stayed at La Villa, rue Jacob - just down the road from Eglise St. Germain des Pres - loved it. Contemporary decor (bathroom fixtures were fabulous Philippe Starck) - very convenient for everything. We had a jr. suite (there were 3 of us) which was on the top floor with little attic windows. Only problem was we had a mini bar dispute when we were leaving (none of us even like Chivas)!

Just had friends come back from Paris and they stayed at the Victoria Hotel. It was a beautiful decorated hotel, large rooms, incredibly friendly staff (especially the owners). Great address, quite street, off a main road. I think someone has posted something about them previously. They are offering very good prices for their deluxe double rooms.

Highly recommended!

Hi

In the price range you gave, without a doubt, the Madison is the nicest hotel you can find in Paris. The staff is accommodating and the rooms are nice sized and comfortable - not like many tiny rooms in Paris.

Hi suezanna,

A place that I have heard recommended, and have walked by, is Relais Christine. Runs around 300E. Web site is:
http://www.relais-christine.com/

It looks suitably fabulous! I hope others hear can give some reviews.

Enjoy!

And another

Hotel Jeu de Paume on Ile St Louis. Great location, old mansion, 32 rooms, under 200$. Again, looked in awe, but never stayed.

My wife and I have stayed at two 3+ Star hotels and would recommnend either. Both are in the 6th right off Avenue St Germaine. #1 Le Sainte Beauve and #2 Hotel Pas des Calais. They have rooms that will fit your expected rate and are very nice. Check out on line.
