hello there, we are going to france from jun 17 to july 1, does anyone know when the summer sale will start this year? and is it only in Paris? I like brands like Kookai, can anyone tell me which district to go for sale for brands like this and what similar brands please? Thank you!

Hi CWT, It ;s the first time I have ever heard anyone say they are going to Paris to bag a bargain in the shops.

My experience is that in Paris you pay top whack for everything.
However I am happy to be corrected.

It is all of France. It always starts the end of June. This year is begins June 30th.

Kookai is a chain shop, they are all over Paris. One is in the mall at the bottom of Montparnasse Tower, and there are some other stores there like that, so that might be a good place to go.

It is two 5-week for winter and summer sales plus 2 weeks anytime in the year.

oh, the two week periods pvoyageuse is referring to are optional and specific to a particular store, so you can't predict them. Now, individual businesses are allowed to have their own sales periods, but they have to notify the govt in advance and fill out a form as to the dates they choose, I forget if there are any limitations -- I think there are some limitations regarding dates in proximity to the major national soldes periods.

Yes, there are : at least a month before or after the 5-week major sales period.
