Which hotel?
We were originally looking to go to St. Maarten, but Jet Blue came out with nonstop service from NY to Aruba for $99 each way until November 15. Can't pass up the opportunity.
I am trying to decide between the Marriott Stellar Casino and Radisson. I have ruled out the hyatt because of their renovations.
We are looking for a great pool, as well as nice beach. Thanks for your help.

I would absolutely vote for the Radisson over the Marriott. The pool area is GORGEOUS, the grounds are filled with palm trees, the staff was friendly, the restuarants are terrific, there's a bus to downtown that stops out front, and the beach is beautiful -- no trouble getting a palapa either. We stayed there for our honeymoon and loved it!

We originally had wanted to stay at the Marriott, but instead opted for the Radisson as so many people carried on about how far away the Marriott was from everything. We were disappointed with the Radisson, and it didn't help any when we discovered that the Marriott was not nearly as far away as people were saying it was. The Marriott has a very spacious beach and a large free form pool, a waterfall, jacarda trees, lush palm trees and banana trees. It also has the Tuscany restaurant, which is a wonderful Italian restaurant.

Thanks for the info. It is hard to pick as reviews are mixed for both of them. I have been to many Marriotts and never had any problems. I have never stayed at a Radisson. So, I seem to be leaning more towards Marriott.

Have you checked TripAdvisor? That would be a good place to get lots of reviews on the two specific hotels you're looking into. You can also see "candid traveler pics," which I like because brochure photographers can make anything look good. You're not going to see the "supersaver" guest room on a hotel's website -- you're going to see the oceanfront deluxe. When you look at someone's travel pics, you can see how picturesque (or not) a hotel really is. Might be helpful to you.

I have stayed at the Marriott and it is a great resort. I did not even see the Radisson though so I couldn't compare the two. The Hyatt looked very nice from the grounds.
The Marriott is three large buildings, hotel and two time shares. We had a great time and the resort was one of the nicest Marriotts I have stayed in. I would return!
