Susan, You don't have a life, do you? You just seem to think you are poster extraordinaire! Instead of feeding people your uninformed drival, please, PLEASE educate yourself. Instead of spending soooo much time on the Fodors board, how about picking up a book and reading so that you can exercise that muscle in your head.

Sue, How do you get seclusion in a resort that accomodates 3,000 people? the Marriott Stella Maris and Ocean Club are on the same property. Marriott Stella Maris needs some renovation. To top it all off, Marriott is building another addition next door to the Ocean Club for another 1,000 people. Seclusion! Forget about it!!!

Hey folks, give Susan a break! Her point is that the Marriott Resort is set apart at the end of the beach farther from the other resorts along the hotel strip. There are pros and cons to this- it's more difficult to walk from hotel to hotel and its farthest away from town and many restaurants. We stayed at the Marriott years ago (after it had just completed rennovation) and found it to be very nice. On our last trip to Aruba in November, we purhased a unit in the Ocean Club timeshare. I found the Ocean club to be beautiful and nicer than the Marriott Hotel which is showing signs of wear. I think the Marriott is putting its $$ into the timeshare properties for now. The Fodors Rants and Raves has reviews about the Marriott and other aruba hotels on this website. Very informative.

The Marriott is one of the best hotels in the area. They oofer great service and the pool area is beatifull. They have beach access with security which is good. The lobby area is nice anc comfortoble with music in the evenings. They are walking distance from restaurants and shops. Fairly priced for a big chain hotels and most of the times they have a couple of good deals floating around. The hotel is also 5 to 10 min. from Old San Juan.

If you wish to have more information on Puerto Rico and the marriot you can call the PR Tourism Company at 1-800-866-7827 or 1-866-246-8677, they can offer info on Puerto Rico. For brochures on the Hotel, just call the Marriott at 1-800-464-5005and they can send you info on the hotel.

Hope the info helps. Im a local and have also stayed there so I know the place a bit. Good Luck!
