Secrets Capris Riviera Maya
Has anyone stayed at the Secrets Capris in Riviera Maya? We are booked there for a week in October. Extenuating circumstances didn't allow me to do my usual homework but I'm looking for feedback now. Also, what about any day trips that we shouldn't miss?
Thanks in advance,
Julie

We just returned from a week long stay at Secrets Capri. It was wonderful. The best part - no children. The pool is huge and warm. The buffet was excellent for breakfast and lunch, we did ala carte most nights for dinner. Nice gym and spa. During the 7 nights we were there they had 3 outside dinners. One on the beach (4th of July celebration) and two by the pool (Mexican and Caribbean). There are trips to all the Mexican ruins. Chichen Itza is the biggest but they are all very interesting.

Secrets Capri is approx 9 miles from Downtown Playa del Carmen.
We are staying at the Royal Playa del Carmen in Septemer. That hotel is within walking distance to Playa del Carmen, which is one of the main reasons we chose it. Our last trip we stayed at the El Dorado Resort and Spa. It was a 30min/$20 each way taxi ride from Playa. Was not going to make that mistake again.
For day trips, there is Chichen Itza, Tulum, Coba, Xcaret, Xel-Ha, Ak Tun Chen, ATV tours, zip line tours, cenotes, snorkeling, and day trip to Cozumel.
Your hotel's tour desk will have a list of tours to chose from. You can just take a taxi to Xcaret or Xel-Ha.

We booked our trip through Apple Vacations. Secrets offers a free shuttle into Playa Del Carmen in the evening. You have to sign up for it. We did not use it because we have been to Playa Del Carmen on other trips. Also, like greenie stated you can take a cab if the free shuttle in not convenient for you.

Secrets Capri is hands down the best AI resort we have ever stayed at and we have done many. Adult only, ala carte dining with NO reservations, great rooms, great grounds, great staff, great drinks. We could not find one thing to fault except we had to go home!
