Peters Island

Any views on Peters Island Resort? Hubby and I have a 10yr anniversary next year and want to spend some money and go to a beautiful resort. We loved St. Thomas and were thinking St. John too.

Peter Island is one of the nicest resorts in the Caribbean. The food, service and beachfront rooms are excellent. I would highly recommend for a special occasion.

Peter Island is great but it also depends on what you're looking for. There is nothing else on the island except the resort and it is very low key.
What about Caneel Bay on St. John? It is georgeous and upscale. If you want total quiet and romance, Peter Island is great but St. John offers so much of everything that Peter Island has - great beaches, romance, luxury and much more.

I did not stay at Peter Island Resort so I can comment there...
I was fortunate enough to spend a day at Deadman's Cay-the beach there, and let me say that it was probably the nicest I've been to in the Caribbean. Crystal gin clear water, sugary sand, enough palm trees to find shade under. Pure paradise, IMHO. Go!!!

I read the rate it section for Caneel Bay on this web page and it wasn't that great.
Anyone else have any experience with Peters Island?

be careful with scubamom's website. she is the webmaster for Peter Island and other resorts - thus, she is an employee. look at the pics, but keep in mind that it's not an objective review.

thanks so much for that input. It's tough to tell if there are "resort workers" answering some of these messages. It still got good reviews on the discussion part of this web page and the pictures are beautiful.

amy

Keep in mind that all kinds of people with financial interests in various resorts, restaurants, etc hang around forums like this to try to generate business by posing as satisfied customers. The rave reviews of the business owners of the US Virgin Islands are some of the most obvious.
