Hi, Curious of your thoughts about the service at Anacona (GBC). We will be taking our 5th trip to Provo in a week and have dined at Anacona on each visit. We wonder why we go back because the service gets worse on each visit. We can't complain about the food, but since this hotel is a "Hotel School" according to their website, we would expect as anyone would excellent service. We experienced the worst service ever last year and will not be returning this year. I have to agree with you about L'Soleil having the best food and the service was excellent. Would love to hear about your experiences at Anacona.

I have not been to Anocoana in 3 years. I feel the setting and atmosphere are divine, the food is to expensive to not be "to die for." Service is funny-in beginning lots of shuffling silverware, but then when you get your meal, never refill drinks or give you the check. It was like that to me at Parallel23 too. We have a 6 year old, so it's hard to breal away for Anocoana, but we try the sister restaurant Grill Rouge. Same thing, food good, not great, and service very neglectful.
I will be giving it another chance this Christmas-so ask again!
I like O'Soleil much better-especially the tapas on Friday night happy hours are really good.

Bad service is bad service. The hotel school is just a component. Most are full time employees. O'Soleil is excellent. Simba is great (not as expensive). Magnolia excellent. Skip the new Opus. Average food and expensive prices. Location lacking.

I agree about Anacona, very expensive for what you get, your paying for the view. I disagree about the new Opus, which just opened in Nov. at Ocean Club. I went there two times on my last trip and the food and service were wonderful. I didn't find the prices any higher than other good restaurants on Provo. The new owner & manager, Tony, is from Simba and has been on Island for years. Also like Bay Bistro & Coco Bistro(also under new ownership).
