Hermitage Bay Resort

My wife and I are headed to Hermitage Bay in November. Has anyone stayed there? Is there any room that is better than the others (Hillside, with pool is what we are planning at this point), or are they all pretty much equal? Any other info you could think of that would be helpful would be much appreciated!

Hi fil,
I see you have decided on Hermitage. Please post a report after your trip as it is the place I am looking at for our next trip. Luxurylink has some offers for there. It may be worth looking into. It looks amazing and gets wonderful reviews. Like you, we loved the caves, but love trying different places, so hermitage is next.

I've not stayed there but it certainly looks gorgeous. Antigua is a lovely island that should provide you with no end of vistas and activities, should you choose to leave the resort.

Spoke with Hermitage Bay and they have been extremely helpful. We are confirmed for mid Nov. Still interested in hearing more about the resort if anyone knows anything!

I stayed there in January and it truly is amazing. Check out my review over at TripAdvisor.com. There are only 2 types of room (beach and hillside) and you chose right. The hillside rooms with pool are really fabulous. It's AI, but the food is all cooked to order and the drinks are premium brand. We plan to go back this season.

Bunnykins,
I'd love more details on your trip...I've read all the reviews on trip advisor and it's our next place to visit. Did you leave the resort? Besides the plunge pools...is there really a difference in the rooms? Are the plunge pools that private...if you know what I mean???? Any insight would be helpful. Whare else have you gone to compare?

You made a reference to The Caves - which my husband & I loved also! - where else have you stayed?
Thanks!

We have been to the One and Only Ocean Club in the Bahamas (nice, but nothing like the Caves) The Royal Playa del Carmen with a girlfriend(ok for an AI), many years ago PSV and a nice resort in Grenada (the name escapes me now). Many of our trips have been on Bareboats in the BVI's or Grenadines, but now with 3 kids, it's too hard to get away for a week, so we are always looking for quick, easy flights to great resorts. The Caves was just fantastic. I love trying new places( ie: hermitage), but my husband is set on returning this year. We will see. How about you?

We will be heading to Hermitage Bay in September. For our anniversaries, we have also stayed at The One & Only OC, Point Grace - T&C, Villa del Sol - Zihuatanejo, The Caves - Jamaica, Esperanza - Cabo.

Of the places you've been what were your favorites?

Out of the trips listed above - I would probably give The Caves the edge.
