There is NO CDC advisory about Toronto

People, people, people!!!
PLEASE check the CDC website for accurate information.
There is NO travel alert or travel advisory for Toronto as of one minute ago.

Please check official sources before reporting rumours.
Thank you!!

I did not intend this as a rumour, simply requested kind response from someone who may more personal info. The info I quoted was from msn.com and webMD. On the WHO website I saw that the date onset of last probable case in Canada is 12 June 03, with the alert being dropped June 8, 03 according to the CDC website. I did check for accurate info, though the info appeared to be conflicting. No need to scold so, Borealis.

Dear Gulliver,
The title that you gave your posting indicated the advisory was a fact, and not that you were requesting information.

It doesn't seem reasonable to assume that everyone reads the contents of every posting, and your title was scare-mongering.

Tourism has dropped dramatically in Toronto because of the continued perceived danger of travelling there.
There was no need to damage it further in this way.

And that is why I posted separately instead of responding directly.

Gulliver knows what he is and he is NOT seeking information.

Message: Yes, Borealis, I figured that out the way you posted and that's a good way to handle that. No, JMM, you are mistaken about my intent entirely. I am not as savvy a poster as you are and now see that I should have placed quotes around the subject and then a question mark since I was quoting from the soiurce of my info. I just know that it's important to have a subject that contains enough info to get a response. I later found a posting titled simply "SARS in TORONTO" to which you had also responded. It had exactly the type of info I was looking for(from friendly, helpful people living there). That's why I find the forums so helpful, because you get the real scoop from people on the spot. I asked in order to feel that I had informed myself before the trip. After reading that thread I am relieved and looking forward to the trip.

Interesting: I went to one of the websites Gulliver used - webMD and did a search on "SARS Toronto". The very FIRST item on my results list was:
"WHO removes Toronto From SARS List". (dated July 2). Had I been a tourist worried about SARS in Toronto this would have been sufficiently accurate info to deal with my concerns. However had I wanted to indulge in some scare-mongering I would just page down the list till I found an appropriate EARLIER headline which I would then post as the subject on a travel board.
Info-seeker or scare-mongerer ? I think most people can figure this one out.
People who genuinely want SARS info on this board do not use out-of-date quotes as the subject of a post. They have indicated in the subject line that they had a question.
