Cells phones and internet cafes

If you took a cell phone to the Canadian Rockies , did it work OK?

Are there internet cafes available in Banff and Jasper? Don't want to lug laptops but must have daily access for business reasons.

My cell phone worked perfectly well when in Banff and Jasper townsites (but don't know how it would work away from the towns, on the Icefield Parkway for example, because I did not try using it there).

As for internet cafes, don't know if there are independent ones, (haven't needed the use of a computer), but I have noticed that there are computers hooked up to the internet for "guests" in the big hotels (Banff Springs, Jasper Park Lodge etc.)

I know there is a cafe in Jasper...saw it listed in a book. Will post it here tomorrow night, if no one else remembers by that time. And, I saw someone post a trip report from this cafe in Jasper...to let people know how there trip was coming along.

Oops! Meant to type..."how *their* trip was coming along." Let's see if I can find the name of that place...

Hit the jackpot!!
Here's a list in one of the library books I brought home. (Moon Handbook: Canadian Rockies) Don't ever forget, libraries *wherever* you'd travel will have public, & almost always free Internet access, unlike the private spots! (An easy solution, no matter where you go.)
Spots in Banff: Banff Public Library, 101 Bear St, 403-762-2661, Hours vary...call for hrs, altho' M-Th is 10am-8pm
Cascade Plaza: lower level, 317 Banff Ave, 7:30am-10pm, 403-762-8484
Cyber-Web: Sundance Mall, 215 Banff Ave, 9am-midnight, 403-762-8484

For Jasper: Digital Den 780-852-9765, 610 Patricia St, daily 9am-10pm
Jasper Municipal Library 780-852-3652, Elm Ave, M-Th 11-9, Fri-Sat 11-5
More than Mail: 780-852-3151, 620 Connaught Dr, daily 9am-10pm
Soft Rock Cafe 780-852-5850., 632 Connaught Dr, daily 8am-10pm (saw this one from before)

Now, you know there's no need to haul that laptop along!

Great, thanks for the info! Good to know cellphones will work in Banff/Jasper. Also, I hate lugging a laptop so I will definitely use those internet cafes.
