North island hotel reservations okay?
I have recently set an itinerary for the North Island, New Zealand, and would appreciate some input about the places. Our first night, in Aukland, was a problem due to the Americas Cup. We are staying at the Quay West. In Coromandel, at Puka Park. In Rotorua, The Princes Gate. In Napier, County Hotel. In Wellington, City Life. In Blenheim [now South Island] at Peppertree.

Any comments about any of these choices would be appreciated. Thanks.

The Quay West is fine (haven't stayed there, but friends have). I've stayed at the County Hotel. It's a nice older property that has been refurbished. It has a good restaurant. Just make sure that you confirm the room that you are staying (all are named and different).

Thanks to all for the input. I booked with these hotels through an online travel agent, and wanted to make sure they were good choices. I'm sure I'm paying more than I would on my own, but at least I know I'll be set with reservations. I don't know how difficult it is to get reservations last minute, and I didn't want to take a chance. I've read about some other suggestions online, but as long as these are okay, I'll stick with them.
