Recommended transport from BKK to Royal Orchic Sheraton

Limo, taxi?

What are your recommendations for 2 people with two bags each? Not looking for the cheapest way to the hotel....more into a comfortable way into the city, thanks.

Aloha!

If you want to make it luxe, see if the hotel has a limo. I'd bet they do. They will have your name on their board when you exit customs. They'll get your bags and take you to the waiting car, probably with cold water, newspaper, wet cold towel, etc. The Pen did this when we got their pick up service back in 2001.

Then again, just get the pre arranged pick up service (the one Kathie likes, I forget the name) and they will take you. It will probably be less than the hotel's limo service.

Cheapest would be a taxi. But with two of you, and two bags each, the taxi gets pretty cramped.

Forgot to add, when I leave BKK, I ask my door man to get a mini van (I often have 3 bags to check) for the ride back to the airport. The cost from Sukhumvit soi 8 is 600 baht. Not a whole lot more than a taxi, but much more comfy and roomy.

I always use AAC limo. The hotel does have a car, but the price is 2-3x the AAC price.
[email protected] By booking roundtrip you get a discount.

i am using AAQc this time cause we are 3 with 3 med. bags and 3 carry-ons...

i find taxis are perfect and around 300B plus tolls to the dreaded ROS... just follow signs to taxis and stand in short line and tell the starter where you want to go--50B suecharge...

don't use AOT---2700 B is what they are quoting.

1100Baht sounds quite reasonable for AAC. I'd probably go with that, Peter.

See you in BKK in a couple of weeks!!!!

Just to follow up we received an email confirmation from AAC today. 990 baht + 70 baht toll fee each way for r/t rides to the Sheraton Orchid and back to BKK from the Grand Hyatt Erawan in a Mercedes limo. Thanks again!

Aloha!

HT, just FYI you will pay them for the RT when delivered to the ROS. Oh, and unless something has changed, it's a Mercedes sedan rather than a limo. I've always had greaet service from them. Indeed, we have a regular driver who always picks us up.

Yes it is a Mercedes sedan and glad you told me about paying all at first stop. That is how I read the email but was wondering if I had to pay all at once or separately. Our drivers name is John and they gave us his ph#. Is that your driver?

Aloha!
