John Mark Carr in Business Class on Thai
When we flew to Bangkok last month (trip report to come), the king's grand-daughter was on our flight in Business Class. Today it's John Mark Carr and who knows how many American law enforcement officials.
U.S. officials are accompanying Karr on the Thai Airways commercial flight that is scheduled to arrive in Los Angeles at 8:40 p.m. (11:40 p.m. ET).
Karr sat in business class and dined on paté and prawns, and drank champagne, a beer, and French chardonnay

I saw on MSNBC how they were making a big deal ovre the pate' and champagne. Don't all business class passengers get upgraded food free and don't all passengers get free alcoholic beverages? They're making it sound like Karr is getting something extra. And as weird as he may be, he's not charged with anything--yet--so what's the big deal? I'd think getting his tongue loosened would be good for the investigators riding with him.
And finally, MSNBC reported over a "Breaking News" chiron with live pictures of the LAX runway, that he would be landing RIGHT THERE in eight hours. That's breaking news, by golly.

My four children were really bummed that Mom and Dad were in the front of the bus and they were in the back. When they found out that even this guy rides in the front, they feel like they need a new family (or to go to work for the US government)!

I would imagine that a prisoner would be easier to control in business class than in economy but I'm not too pleased that like everything else, including the pensions and salaries of the government workers accompanying him, that we taxpayers have to pick up the tab.

Actually I'm Saddam Hussein - the guy they caught is one of my doubles - but I'm staying incognito because I don't want a free trip to Baghdad, even first class.
--------------------------------------
After the first waves of pre-invasion bombings of Baghdad Saddam's information minister, "Comical Ali", called a meeting of Saddam's 50 identical doubles. "My brothers, first the good news: our beloved Leader has survived the bombing of his palace!"
(Loud cheers, followed by a lone voice, "And - the bad news?"
"The bad news, my friends, is that his right leg has been amputated..."
