Has anyone taken a trip run by Enchanting India? Pros and cons? Thanks!

We used Enchanting India for our trip. We left in mid March & then on to Bhutan in early May.

Enchanting India did a great job with us. I have no idea how many emails we traded plus several phone calls. They worked hard to arrange everything we wanted in our trip.

On upon our arrival they met us at the airport -- with gifts.

We did Delhi, Kaziranga Nat'l Park (north east India), Varanasi, Khajuraho, Ranthambore, Jaipur, Mandawa, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, and Udaipur. This list is just so you know they know India. On top of that, we decided we wanted to explore India on our own. We did southern India on our own however every time we needed help on a flight or hotel it was Enchanting India which took care of us.

The drivers and guides were all very good and helpful.

I recommend Enchanting India.

I'm also interested in the Enchanting India tour costs and also, DutyFree, the costs quoted to you for your proposed trip -- where you're going and what is being asked!!

We made a decision early in our travel planning stage to spend more money than we normally do. We stayed at many Heritage hotels, in Udaipur we stayed at the Oberoi Udai Vilas (never again, great hotel but the cost is more than we have ever paid for a room and it didn’t even have in room internet service), we had private nature/bird guides six different days – these were the best guides and some of the best parks we have ever visited, elephant safari in Kaziranga Nat’l Park, we had three air plane flights and one overnight train ride, an evening and morning boat ride on the Ganges while in Varanasi, we had a driver and guide from Khajuraho to Orchha to Ranthambore to Jaipur to Mandawa to Bikaner to Jaisalmer to Jodhpur to Udaipur, we had an overnight stay in the desert (this is not something to do in April – Enchanting India recommended against this trip but I insisted: it was hot, and yes I grew up in the Arizona desert and know hot), I believe all the hotels included breakfast and the tent camp (a great place) at Ranthambore Nat’l Park included three meals per day, and all entrance fees -- the approximate cost including all of the above was $450 per day for two people.

It cost nothing to contact Parik, the owner of Enchanting India. He will put together an itinerary for you, recommend various (cost) levels of hotels – they have a great hotel in Delhi that doesn’t cost anywhere close to what the Taj Hotel costs, and is a wealth of information on India.

We do plan on returning to India – so much more to see and experience and we will again plan and travel with Enchanting India.
