best movie theatre in bangkok

hello,

we are going to be staying at the brand new centara grand hotel at central world.
We've heard taking a break off shopping and a really good way of relaxing is going to a fancy luxurious movie theatre in bangkok, we tried looking at some of them like the gold class theatre at siam discovery centre with massage sofa seats, blankets n the works, we're also told similar experiences are offered in other theatres too around the siam square area.
can someone please tell us which theatre would by far be the best experience around that area, we also hear there's a good theatre in the central world too but we want to go for whichever one's the best, not bothered with the price but the experience.
thanks

I'm in room 4324 at the Centara Grand at Central World right now.

Just go downstairs to Level 7 in Central World and all your dreams will come true.

The IMAX screen at Siam Paragon is also quite remarkable. No blankets though -- just a sensational screen.

We went to the Nokia Ultra Screens at Paragon Cineplex and it was amazing! Don't know if I can ever watch a movie at a regular theatre again.

You go before the show and are offered complementary drinks and a snack. The pillows, blanket and comfy, reclinging seats make even a B grade movie a pleasure.

It might seem like a silly thing to do on vacation but we found it a real treat after a long hot day. Make sure to stand when they play the national anthem before the movie starts.

Yep, I've been several times to the Gold Class Theater at Siam Discovery. Fantastic!! But, I've heard that the theater at Siam Paragon is better (newer). I've not been, but that's what I hear.

I agree, a movie is a great way to spend some time and relax in a comfy recliner with pillow, blanket, drink, popcorn, almost like curling up on your own couch at home!! The movie doesn't even have to be that grand; the surroundings are that special!

Curious what made you select the Centara Grand?

Carol (Bob, it's really Calon)

i have to add however that i can't imagine going to the movies while in an exciting place like bkk, unless you are there for an extended time or visit there often...but thats just me....for instance i have been to bkk many times and have never found a time to go...

I know what you mean, Bob. It's one of those things I know about, but it's never been high enough on my list to get there! Perhaps when we retire to Bangkok we'll find the time to go.

We need to remember that the Priyesh is travelling with a nine month old infant son - so some of Bangkok's undoubted amazements might be a bit in the too hard basket just at the moment. I think he's looking for some easier options.

As a child-free lad myself I may be talking complete rubbish, [what's new...] but I reckon that's behind his question - and probably behind the choice of hotel.
