Lazy Boy Theaters in Bangkok

Not expecting to view any movies while in Thailand but just read of these awesome theaters that provide LazyBoy comfort and refreshments during the movie.

If we need to relax for a couple of hours at some point, this might be a nice way to relax and cool off.

Anyone done it?

No I haven't done it but these theaters exist even in Connecticut so this is not a big deal. Unless its a flick you really want to see, spend the time relaxing and cooling off by the pool at your hotel.

I've done it a number of times. It doesn't matter if the movie is all that great! The lush comfort of the LazyBoy chairs (there are only about 30 in the theater) and the big screen and terrific sound system make it a real treat. I'll bet the price in BKK is more reasonable than it is in CT.

Give it a try!

There plenty of these theatres all around BKK (Siam Paragon is the newest I believe). Nice way to escape the heat during the day (in fact they give you blankets because it's downright freezing inside).

Of course they have these in Connecticut. What else is there to do? After all, it is the Nutmeg State. How did nutmeg win over all those other much more deserving spices?

I know we invaded Grenada, but did we make it a state? In that vein, how many countries have we invaded in our own hemispere? Lots. How many have invaded us? Not quite so many. Food for thought, spiced of course with ground nutmeg.

Getting back on track - this will be the OP's first trip to Bangkok as part of an organized tour. Its very unlikely she's going to have 2-3 hours to spare for a movie plus the time it takes to travel to the theater and back. We had planned to do a movie during our 2006 8-day stay in Bangkok but found that we were so busy with other priorities that we had no time. Since then these types of theaters have opened in the Constitution State (the official nickname of CT) making schlepping around Bangkok to see a flick in a LazyBoy pretty much unnecessary.

Please don't make me go to the lounge. Those people are crazy. Even worse, they don't have any sense of humor (probably should be pluralized).

My wife and I go to these every time we visit Bangkok. A great way to relax, get away from the heat, ride out jet lag.

Highly recommended...

Do they play new release American movies? Are they in English or do they just have English sub-titles?

Sounds fun!

Sometimes they have both. They may have the same movie playing in different theaters - one in Thai with subtitles and one in English with Thai subtitles.

They do play current releases, or at least a release that is only a few day out. Prices are pretty good especially in the regular theaters!

Thank you Thank you Thank you.

We have read so many trip reports that speak of heading back to the hotel for a nap or a dip in the pool (of which we might do too because of the heat) but we read about these lazyboy theaters and thought it might be a cool way to COOL DOWN.

We are on the west coast CT, but I know these high end theaters are popping up everywhere.

It's more likely we'll do other things but I knew you could give me good direction if we have the time or desire.

We just returned from Thailand and DID visit one of these theaters. We watched a new flick (that was bad) but had an hour and a half to relax covered with blankets. They keep it so cold.

We also returned to Jim Thompson for lunch ,(a few short block walk) since our initial lunch was so good and the coconut ice cream called for our return. The biggest mall we'd ever seen - they take shopping to a new level.Of course you take your life in your hands getting there in the PUTT PUTTs

After being on a 17 days fast paced tour, it was nice to relax in this new experience. Comfy chairs but NOT lazyboys!!!
