Going to Bangkok?
If you are headed to Bangkok, here is a must do... if you enjoy movies that is. You must go to the EGV Gold Class Theater which is in Siam Discovery shopping center. This is very near the place where the two skytrains intersect. The EGV Gold Class is a regular sized theater with surround sound like all the others. The big difference is, there are only 30 seats in the theater! Each one is a "lazy boy" recliner (leather, if I remember correctly)! Some are made for two people, some made for one person. You get blanket, pillow, sockies for your feet.. it's unreal! Little tables are by your seat for your glass of wine/box of popcorn. The front row of seats have massage chairs! This theater is an experience, even if the movie isn't great! Make sure you go to the GOLD CLASS theater. The entrance is thru glass sliding doors into a lobby with bar. The theater runs the latest movies. The whole top floor of the Discovery center is theaters/eateries/video games/arcades. Fun!

I agree...we went to this cinema last year and it was fun even if the movie was crap...but don't get too comfy in those recliners...remember that you have to get up before the movie when the national anthem is played

Here's another one of my must-do's. I love Tawang Dang nightclub. Bruce's band plays great Thai jazz fusion, followed by singer Poo and the house band. The food is great also.. and the beer they brew (it's a brewery) is also quite tasty. Great show, great food, dancing in the aisles... who could ask for anything more?

Something else... ladies you might want to take along some travel toilet paper. You don't always find it in the restroom facilities. I was lucky I had some with me when I went to the ladies room at MBK (what a great shopping place). I did not notice the machine on the wall for 2 baht which sells toilet tissue and hand towel. I thought it was the typical machine in a ladies room. Wrong! Lucky for me, I had my handy dandy travel size toilet paper roll in my purse, so not to worry.
I've written travel journals for all 5 of my trips to Bangkok/Chiang Mai/Samui and Phuket. Never thought of putting them out on the web! Guess I'll rethink the idea. I've done several newspaper articles though.
