Bangkok: Calypso Cabaret Show

Looks like a real hoot. Looking for rants raves and alternatives. Is this still in the Asia Hotel? Somebody said there was another one called Mambo's.

Read that the Asia Hotel is connected to the Ratchathewee BTS Skytrain Station.

I've never been, but BillT raves about it all the time. Maybe he will see your thread and post on it.

it is tons of fun and only lasts about an hour and 1/2...direct access from the skytrain at asia hotel...

reserve your seat in advance on the internet...get front row center...the theater is small...

Mambo is located in a square next to Soi 22 and can be seen from the main Sukhumvit Road. Havent been but the Calypso was good fun.

I went to Calypso in sept. Still in Asia Hotel, skytrain stops right at hotel. It was fun but skip the buffet dinner.

Tickets are $25 for the cocktail show- one free drink. Cameras are allowed during the show. After the show the performers line up and you can get you picture with them but they do expect to be tipped for this- maybe 50 Baht. You can pay over the internet and pick your seats, or get them at the box office in the Asia Hotel. This is great entertainment for everyone- classy- nicely done- you will enjoy it.

Calypso was good fun. You can book your seats online at:
http://www.calypsocabaret.com/

The theatre looks big on the seating chart but its actually quite small. Pick seats in the front and centre like rhkkmk says.

Haven't been to the Mambo's one, so can't really compare.
