Bangkok Airways
I just got back from Thailand and wanted to give others a heads up - Bangkok Airways was fantastic! We got some cheap deals (BKK-Samui 2000, BKK-Chiang Mai 1500!)...the service was great, free internet and complimentary snacks/beverages at the gates, and great in-flight service. It was great!

The cost of 2000 baht (actually 2250 with surcharges) from Bangkok to Samui are for the early morning flights 5.40 & 6.00 and last evening one at 20.20. The cheapest Chiang Mai flight is around 865 baht if booked early on Air Asia

yikes.. bangkok airways is actaully considered a boutique airline and is one the most expensive in asia.
using bangkok airways on the bkk-chaing mai is kind of bad choise\.. you could pay half as much on air asia, one-2-go or NOK, or you could take thai airways, pay about the same as bangkok air but get frequent flyer mile..

Most airlines including Thai ( which used mainly wide bodied Airbus 300/300, 777 or 747-400s ) and Bangkok Airways ( 717s ) are about 2,000 each way.
Thai Air Asia and Nok Air both use 737s, fares range from just real cheap promotions to an average of about 1,300-1,400, there is ialso One-2-Go using a mix of 757 or 747-200s but their online booking is not so easy...Thai Air Asia and Nok Air both simple, another is Phuket Air using 737-200s but I would stick with the top 4 which are Thai, Bangkok Airways, Nok Air and Thai Air Asia

there were some negetive things written about bkk air over the last 6 months and i just wanted to say that we used them last month and this month on both domestic and international flights and they were 100 % in every way save a 30 minute delay on our return flight from phuket last week...
i will continue to use them....their seperate lounge areas are a great help to travellers and free internet is a bonus along with some tid bits to munch on....class operation
