Best airport in world? Everyone votes!

Best US: Denver, beautiful floors, cool roof (when not leaking) fast, efficient trains between concourses (when running). L O N G runways.
Worst US: Cincinnati. Nazis running U S customs and immigration.
Worst elsewhere: Luxor Egypt.
Best elsewhere: Probably Rome if they would replace those godawful wire seats.
Note to PONCHOTJ: Never found Cairo International dirty, just boring. Domestic terminals even more boring but also clean; in fact, they have people sweeping the floors 24 hours a day - one advantage to cheap labor.

Here's another vote for Koh Samui (Thailand). US airports all seem the same after a while but two that stand out are Orlando (best) and JFK (worst). BTW - Denver is awful if you are renting a car.

Dubai Internatioal has my vote.It is modern ,clean,excelent duty free shopping,easy transfers and an internal Hotel that allows transfer passengers an opportunity to sleep and shower comfortably without the need to pass passport control.
Efficient security control even x-rays all baggage before entering check-in section.Passport control always seems to have sufficiet staff to handle peak crowds to avoid long waits.
The Frequent Flyer lounges are large and convenient to airline gates.
The above makes this the 2nd fastest growing airport in the world.
Dubai is not waiting until the terminal has reached its capacity to begin contruction of a huge addition to be ready in 2 years.

Since I've been living in Vancouver, I always travel out of YVR. The funny thing is that I hardly have any recollection of what other airports are like, even ones I've been to several times, so ranking them would have been impossible. They are more or less indistinguishable in my mind (except for Gatwick LGW - which has so many shops in the departure lounge). Am I unique in not recalling the exact differences between YYZ and YUL, for example?
But given how many people like YVR, it appears that maybe I should give it a #1 ranking as it's the only airport I recall enough about to rank.
I do like tiny airports, too, though, even if lacking in amenities, and I seem to remember these a bit more. BLI (Bellingham), Torp (forgot the code), Aarhus (forgot the code) are nice little places considering how small they are.

Copenhagen

Terminal One - CDG

(I can't believe this place is still standing its so run-down)
Best Asian Airport:
Changi - Singapore
(Haven't been to HK since they closed Kai Tak but it sounds just as good!)

Best- Portland, OR- It is very clean, very updated, and has many shops. It is not too big so that it takes forever to get anywhere, and it is not to small so there is only one city to fly to. It is a careful median of the big and the large and that is what makes it the best.
Worst- London- Gatwick- Big, low ceilings, VERY old, and the customs is downright sad.

Worst: Toronto's Pearson International.
You could wander around for years trying to figure out which door from the Arrivals level leads to the floor level & area where you parked your car in the Parking Garage across the street. And, once you figure it out you'll probably get killed trying to cross the street! In Terminal 2 Dapartures area the food courts are limited and the food is really bad. Getting downtown from PIA is another major pain....why not some direct subway link to the downtown core? Step out the door & it whisks you downtown!
Best US: Charlotte & West Palm.

Not Hong Kong. It is just too big and the signs are not very good. Had trouble finding the United ticket counter. Did manage to follow the signs to the concourse where my flight was (gate 60 something). The sign read 'gates 21 - 80'. If you were unforunate enough to have your flight at gate 80, you would have to walk/moving walkway past 59 gates. Then more trouble finding the Red Carpet Club which was sub-standard.
