man, i just joined this site a few days ago and i thought all was cheeky and rosy. not! there seem to be a few nasty people on this thread and on a few others. i am not an accomplished photographer, so i can benefit from any and all threads related to the subject.

is there a compilation of good threads related to photography?

or instead of this home page just go directly into the safari type photos section http://tinyurl.com/5vbrgg . Comments are invited on them and they often point out what makes a photo special.

To all you newcomers out there, welcome and sorry for the bad timing. As a newcomer, myself, I am in no position to offer assistance. However, I can tell you that this board and many of its contributors can provide you with a wealth of information - the motherlode, so to speak. You can (literally) spend hours scrolling through previous threads or ask the same questions in a new way and they'll be answered once again. Most of these people are terrific. Best of luck!
