Seems like there was another more recent one, this year, with same subject. Might be more useful to reply on it? On the other hand, this one is nostalgic. It originated before I even new Fodors Forums existed!!!!

Gardyloo, Patty, looks like we'll be crossing paths. I'll be in Kenya (Rekero Camp) 1st week in September, then transiting JNB twice (4 days apart) en route to the Timbavati.

It was through reading the other post that Tom referred to that actually spurred me to plan something for this year. I was going to stick to europe for this fall but after reading about all the great trips everyone had planned for Africa, I got the bug! My sister and I were initially considering South Africa but concluded that we probably need more time to do it justice - so we have just booked Kenya for late October, visiting Meru (Elsa's Kopje), Samburu (Elephant Watch) and Masai Mara (Entim). The countdown has started
