Leslie,
Sorry to miss you at Jack's. Have you been before? It will be my 10th visit, starting in 1994. It's always been a big favourite, and I'm often there on my birthday, as I will be this time.
Have a good time,
Jan

68 days until my first trip and I am so excited! We're doing 5 days in TZ and 5 in Kenya! While I am a bit nervous about the time of year, sometimes I just start smiling walking down the street thinking about all the amazing things I will see and experiences I will have!

Hello! Not Africa ..... but, think many of you may be interested in a Tiger safari in India (hopefully, there are a few left!!!)
Going the day after Diwali ......
November 9th overnight in Nagpur. Get there via Mumbai.
November 10th-13th (3 nights)- Pench national park, Madhya Pradesh.
We are doing a road transfer from Nagpur (only option) and supposedly 90kms ..... can't wait!

Oh Hari, definitely want to see pictures of the tigers!!
I don't want to get depressed with counting the days till we go to Zambia...
Leave Sept 24, 2008 (ugh!) for
3 days Chiawa
3 days Old Mondoro
3 days Kaingo
3 days Tafika
Am hopefully going to sneak in a Zim trip before that!

Thought I'd resurrect this for everyone's up and coming trips. For some reason, wouldn't come up in the search box so had to go back over 800 threads. Whew!
Leave U.S. Jan 16th.
Overnight NBO in Kenya on 17th
Jan 18 & 19-Campi Ya Kanzi.
Jan 21-27 Rwanda
4 gorilla treks.
Possibly 1-2 golden monkey treks.
Jan 28-Feb.7th-TBD.
I know it's late in the game and last minute but still working on itinerary.
Will keep everyone posted as itinerary shapes up.
And don't hold your breath on a trip report. Never even finished last year's!

Divewop, give my best regards to Luca and his family and tell him that the new maasaitrust.org website is looking good.
I look forward to talking with him more in the new year but have been a bit short of time recently.
And tell him how good the interview looks on Safaritalk ;-)

My best also to Luca, Antonella, Lulu and lil baby, who probably isn't so little by now. By now he can probably fit into the shorts/shirt I brought for him. And, of course, kiss-kiss for Stefano!
Have a ball!

Six weeks until Seattle > JFK > London > Joburg, then 4 nights in Sabi Sands (Elephant Plains this time.) Then I come home and herself flies up to Nairobi (from JNB) to join a ten-day tour of various health facilities, clinics and programs in several Kenyan locales incl. the Korogocho slum in Nairobi, a prison and villages around Kakamega, and Budalangi, a fishing village on Lake Victoria. They're also visiting President Obama's father's village before returning to Nairobi. (Trip sponsored by a big health care NGO she's affiliated with.) She's totally jazzed.
