Hi, ann
We were originally planning on traveling in July/August and the price was astronomical, well over US$10K pp (for a family of 5, that was a killer)! This is coming in at US$6K pp, rounded up. This camping is not necessarily cheaper, but going in the green season has made a difference, as has the fact that this is a scheduled rather than custom trip.

Two weeks to blast off from Bend, Oregon to JBurg where we head to Mala Mala for three days, then to Durban where I swapped a vacation house for a place at Zimbali Shores for four days. Then off to Zula Nyala for three days using a trip we purchased at an auction. The last ten days are in Botswana staying at Mombo Camp, Kings Pool and last few days at the River Club near Victoria Falls.

This trip was planned and coordinated by Paul Swart and Wildnerness Safaris. All has been very smooth, and five of my pals are going at different times booking through the same people.

Highly recommend Wildnerness Safaris. Even though the cost is more-peace of mind a dream trip fulfilled will be worth the dollars.

Thank you for all the packing, malaria and trip suggestions on many of these postings. It has really helped!

Have a great trip everyone, I am sure you will.

tripgirl:

We are just beginning to plan our trip; and your itinerary hits many of the places and hotels that we had in mind. Being that we just got back from France/Italy for 3 weeks, and we are cruising the Baltic July, 2008, it may be late 2008/09...I was wondering if you could share the per person $$ that this trip.
Just a rough number would be great.
Thanks
