Largo Lodge Review

When you drive under the dense canopy of foliage at the entrance to Largo Lodge you'll feel like you've escaped Overseas Highway's bustle. Vintage 1950s cottages are tucked amid three acres of palm trees, sea grapes, and orchids. Cottage accommodations—surprisingly spacious—feature small kitchen and dining areas and large screened porches. Two bay-front rooms were renovated in 2009, and the cottages too are benefitting from a recent change in ownership. A lavish swath of bay frontage is perfect for communing with the friendly squirrels, iguanas, and ibises. For swimming, you'll need to drive about 1 mi to John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, but kayak use is complimentary here.
