Stacey Lastoe

Stacey Lastoe is a former senior editor for CNN Travel, where she covered travel news and trends, aviation, food and drink, and hotels among other things. She has recently discovered the joys of freelancing. Looking back, Stacey guesses she unofficially embarked upon a career in travel writing in 2009 when she bought a backpack and a one-way ticket to South America. Since that epic year-long, solo journey around the continent, where she blogged sporadically based on internet access, Stacey has worked at or written for Explore Parts Unknown, Refinery29, The Kitchn, Fodor's, Wine Enthusiast and more. She won an Emmy for her work on Anthony Bourdain's digital series "Little Los Angeles" while working as a senior editor for CNN's Explore Parts Unknown. A graduate of Bucknell University and SUNY Binghamton, Stacey lived briefly in Boston before moving to New York City and falling madly in love with the place, a.k.a., The Greatest City in the World. These days, Stacey splits her time between Brooklyn and Southern Vermont. She lives with her husband and hound dog.
