Washington, DC Hotel Recommendations, Please

Any suggestions for a hotel in the area between near 14th Street NW for a 2 night business trip? Considering the Hilton Garden Inn on 14th Street if we can get a good rate. We are open to other suggestions and areas, too. Event is on 14th Street (1600's) so would like to be near that area. Thanks.

I've stayed at HGI on 14th and been satisfied.
In the general area, I've stayed at the Courtyard on Rhode Island and the Residence Inn off Dupont Circle and been good with both stays.

Thanks for the info, stumpworks73. Is that the Embassy Row Courtyard?

The Hotel Helix looks interesting. Did you stay there, vjblovesitaly? Good location? Safe area? I have read good reviews with few negative comments. Thank you.

My boss has clients who stay there. I wouldn't have recommended it if it was not a safe area

There are a number of hotels in that neighborhood. A Doubletree, a Holiday Inn. There is a Westin that isn't too far. Lots of options, and perfectly safe. Very gentrified neighborhood (lofts, Whole Foods, etc.).
