I've been there twice. It's different, that's for sure. The "tapas" snack sizes are quite small so it takes a lot of them to make a meal, so it gets pretty expensive quickly. I wouldn't go back, myself. By the way, it's Cafe Tu Tu Tango.

I really liked Bahama Breeze in Orlando. We liked it so much (2 adults, kids 10 and 14) that we went twice during our 4 days there. They have a killer Scallop dish if you like scallops. We enjoyed the people-watching too. They have an open air bar and it's fun to just watch people come and go.

Agree with both posts - especially Lori - BB is excellent!! CTTT is worth a visit, but as stated, the portions are small and the bill soon mounts.
For an all round good night out with friends, family - or as a couple - Bahama Breeze wins hands down.

I keep hearing good things about Bahama Breeze. We'll be a party of 8 (2 families of 4 traveling together). We're renting a house 3 mi. from WDW and wonder if any of the BB are closeby and take reservations or will we have a problem with a party our size. Also, any other recommendations for family oriented restaurants. THanks

Bahama Breeze is on International Drive. Very close to Disney. Other recommendations on that street include Race Rock and Front Row. Universal Studios Citywalk has NBA City, Hard Rock Cafe, Margaritaville, Motown Cafe, Nascar Cafe and Emeril's. Downtown Disney has the Rainforest, Wolfgang Pucks, Planet Hollywood, and Bongos. There are hundreds more. Bon appetit!!

"Chevy's" is a really good Mexican restaurant in Lake Buena Vista (at entrance to the Crossroads shopping center) Good family place and the BEST SALSA ever!!! Also, Wolfgang Puck express in Downtown Disney and Westside-great casual place with good tortilla soup and pizzas

If you have a car I would recommend spending some time and exploring downtown Orlando....great restaurants include Ichiban (Japanese), Lake Eola Yacht Club and Wildfire in the Thornton Park area very close to downtown. Another great place downtown is in the Embassy Suites hotel...Concha Me Crazy. You might really enjoy some time away from the homogenized chains in the Disney area.

There are 2 great areas in Central Florida for trendy restaurants.
(1) Sand Lake Rd - Dr. Phillips area
(2) Winter Park Village
Alot of restaurants in these areas. You'll need a car to get to both.

There is a Bahama Breeze near the Crossroads Area. It is the on the same side of the road - but is on the other side of the 'bridge/flyover' that carries I4 - if that makes sense.

No reservations allowed - you turn up and get a 'light up pager' that tells you your table is ready.

Agree with the post re Chevy's - very good night out. Crossroads also has a Jungle Jims, TGI's, Red Lobster, Pebbles, and Olive garden - all good places for groups. We visited all last year - 5 adults/2 kids - and will be returning in 16 days.

A word of warning about bahama breeze. GO EARLY. As mentioned, they don't take reservations, and if there's a convention in town, the wait can easily be a couple of hours. The food is good, especially for the reasonable prices.

Cafe Tu Tu Tango has some good tapas, and reasonably priced drinks. But it's not somewhere you want to go if you're starving. It fits the bill if you just want to hang out and drink with friends. I personally think it's overrated...we have one here in L.A. too.

Most of the restaurants mentioned are huge tourist establishments. Since you're on vacation, it can be fun, but don't expect class A food. I don't even think Emeril's is fantastic, but I'm sure many would disagree.

p.s. one of the better meals I had there was a restaurant at the Peabody Hotel. I had an excellent seabass. But it was a low key restaurant, and not nearly as fun as the kitchy places. Wasn't cheap either, but I thought I'd mention it.
