Hotel for Atlanta Family Reunion
Trying to get a bunch of family members together to visit my grandfather. He lives near Emory Univ.
Anyone have any advice on a hotel where we could get several rooms and also some kind of family meeting area?
Probably talking about 20 people in all.
thanks!

Not sure about hotel, but a great place to have the reunion would be Stone Mountain Park! Contact the hotel on room rate, you can get group rates at some places if everyone or almost everyone stays there...

Friends were married there recently and I was blown away. I had no idea it existed. Well, I knew it was there, but had no idea how beautiful it was.
Frank Lloyd Wright inspired design.
Lots of nooks and crannies in the lobby areas for the family to meet, as well as the outdoor patio.
I can't express how impressed I was.
The wedding was breathtaking and the staff/service sublime.

The Emory Conference Center would be your best bet. There are a few chain hotels near Interstate 85 and North Druid Hills Rd interchange that are about 10 minutes from Emory. There is a Marriott, I believe, off Clairmont Road at Interstate 85 in a office park called Century Center. It has conference rooms. Stone Mountain would be fun (there would be more to do in that area) but it's about 20 minutes away, maybe a little longer depending on traffic.

Another idea that may work is the Holiday Inn in downtown Decatur. It's right off the square and has a lot of restaurant options within a couple of blocks. It's the sort of place folks would be comfortable getting out and about to walk around - which isn't necessarily the case in car-centric Atlanta.
It's not too far (by car) from Emory, on the way out to Stone Mountain Park (if folks want to go there for the day), and is near the MARTA line (if folks want to use MARTA to and from the airport or other locations in Atlanta).
I'm very familiar with the location, but haven't stayed there in a long time, so this link is from TripAdvisor so you can read reviews -

The little town of Decatur does a great job with weekend concerts and events, so there may be something fun going on outside your hotel door when you are there -

If you stay there, we can offer LOTS of restaurant suggestions
