Sueno del Mar or Capitan Suizo
Hi, we are finalizing our stay in Costa Rica, and are trying to decide between Sueno del Mar or Capitan Suizo for a portion of our trip. We'll also be spending time at Bosque del Cabo and Villa Nicolas during our stay. -This is our honeymoon, so we'll want some time to relax, but also access to excursions and activities. -The only room available at Capitan Suizo is a regular no a/c room. -We had hoped for a bungalow.
Thanks for any advice!

When are you going? The reason I am asking is that Capitan Suizo is popular with families during school vacations so be prepared for some kids.
Sueno del Mar is much smaller than Capitan Suizo and probably more romantic. It is also located on a different beach (Playa Langosta) which is less populated and cleaner than Playa Tamarindo. Capitan Suizo is located on the southern end of Playa Tamarindo which is the quieter end and I hear horses are no longer allowed on the beach so that should help with sand and water quality. It is a shorter distance from Capitan Suizo to stores and restaurants, from Sueno del Mar, it is a longer walk.
As to rooms, all rooms at Capitan Suizo are nice and spacious. We like the bungalows but my second choice would be a room without A/C (they are a bit more private than the ones with A/C which are located downstairs).

We have a similar trip planned for June 23-July 6 ... a bungalow at Capitan Suizo and then Bosque del Cabo, except that instead of relaxing on our honeymoon, we'll be with our 10 and 12 year old kids who are eager to learn to surf! I've been fooling around with the transporation details -- have you figured out yet how you're going to travel from one place to the next??

After weighing all the transportation options, we'll be flying between most locations. We're usually the type that loves to rent a car so that we can control where and when we go, and I'm going to miss seeing more of the countryside and smaller towns, but for this trip, flying was the best option.
