need help with itinerary still!
Ok not sure what to do we had our heart set on going to M.A. and Punta islita resort with a stop in Tamarindo in between. But we are only there for 14 days and the first 3 are already taken with a rafting trip. It seems it really is too much to try to do both the guanacaste region and the quepos area in only 10 days. So my question is should we drop manuel antonio and just stay up north doing tamarindo and punta isleta. We dont want to give up tamarindo for the fishing opportunities there and we dont want to give up MA for the scenery opportunities. Any advice?

Fishing is really good in Quepos as well--perhaps better than Tamarindo! Manuel Antonio and Punta Islita would be good choices. . .Punta Islita would provide you will a place more isolated and quiet. Tamarindo is quite busy--lots of tourists. Whatever you do, you are sure to have a great time! You are wise not to try to crowd in too much! You could do all 3 in ten days, but that is lots of traveling, and with Punta Islita a little out of the way and somewhat difficult to get to. . . .Have fun!

By the way, since you are interested in fishing, check out this website:

Jerry Ruhlow is an expert in Costa Rican fishing. He can tell you where the fishing is good at different times of the year.
Also, I am assuming you know that Quepos is the city near Manuel Antonio.

Thanks shilmac,
I think i will head your advice and maybe take out tamarindo. But just in case what do you think of this itinerary.
#1 puravida hotel (san jose)
#2 rafting
#3 puravida
#4 drive to M.A.
#5 M.A.
#6 M.A
#7 catch sansa flight to san jose and connection to tamarindo
#8 Tamarindo (fishing)
#9 shuttle to Punta I.
#10 P.I.
#11 P.I.
#12 P.I
#13 fly to san jose stay at pura vida
#14 early morning home
Do you think this sounds like a doable trip or an exhausting one?

I agree with Shillmac, skip Tamarindo on this trip and just stick to Manuel Antonio and Punta Islita. You can definitely fish from
Quepos and Punta Islita will give you a nice dose of relaxation.
Have a great trip.
