Where to eat Gnocchi on Thursday in Rome?

I read somwehere that Thursday's in Rome are "Gnocchi Day" and there are always specials in restaurants for Gnocchi. Being a huge fan of gnocchi and Thursday being the first day I am in Rome on my trip I have to know where is the BEST place to eat Gnocchi in Rome?? thanks!!

Can't help you with the "best" gnocchi, but I encourage you to have your gnocchi for lunch and have dinner at Armando al Pantheon.

Armando has a special on Thursday nights only: coda alla vaccinara. It takes days to prepare...and it shows! Just fabulous.

Hi

TIP: Check that the restaurant serves only Gnocchi made on the premises i.e not ones knocked up on a machine and frozen .

I don't know about "gnocchi day" but I had a great gnocchi with cream sauce at this restuarant:
Matricianella, via del Leone, 4 near to the Spanish Steps. We had all ordered different pastas and everyone wanted to pass their plates around and share. I had to really think about it before I let go of my plate.

Matricianella was the first restaurant I ever ate at in Rome. Nice memory. I, too, loved the gnocchi. Everything else was very good and the service made our first night a delight. Haven't been back since we've stayed in other neighborhoods since then.

There's a gelateria around the corner in Pza San Leandro with some of the most tempting pastries I saw in Rome. They have little tables out in the square, a nice place for after dinner.

Two restaurants that serve excellent gnocchi on Thursdays are Da Felice in the Testaccio neighborhood and Augusto in Trastevere.
