Something really special to do for 10 yr aniversary while in Rome
My wife and I will be in Rome Feb 18th (Friday) which is our 10 yr aniversary. I would like to arrange something really special. The trip to Italy is our present to each other, but what could we do, go, eat, ect that would make the night something we would never forget (like being in Italy isn't enough).
Thanks

How about giving a gift to others? On our 25th, my wife and I went to a very nice restaurant in Rome and gave out souvenirs to everyone in the restaurant. The souvenirs? Shiny new U.S. "gold dollar" coins just minted. We explained to the head waiter and the manager that this is what we wanted to do, and the waiters were informed to tell the guests. After time for this to happen, we went around to each table and passed out a coin to each person. You don't want to pick a large restaurant for something like this, but if you had seen the expressions of surprise and pleasure our little gesture brought, you would remember the occasion forever just as we will. Maybe kinda strange, and it cost us $55 in coins (which we had to explain to the X-ray operator on our baggage check as we left for Rome) but it was great. Good luck and congratulations.

Bring her to a piazza (Navona, Rotunda ...) at a not-so-crowded time of day (AM). Give her a diamond ring, spin her around while yelling loudly "I LOVE THIS WOMAN". In Italian, you could yell "MI AMO QUESTA DONNA".
For me, a recent, romantic, and warm September night in Rome consisted of:
1) A great meal (al Fresco) in Piazza Navona, while being entertained by the street actors and roving musicians playing Italian standard love songs followed by
2) A walk to Trevi Fountain, where I bought my wife a rose and a gelato, while we joined the crowd throwing coins into the beautifully lit up fountain followed by
3) A nightcap on the outdoor rooftop bar of the Albergo del Senato, overlooking Piazza Rotunda (the Pantheon).

For me a special romantic night in Rome, in February, mind you, which is much different than warm months, would beging with dinner at Vecchia Roma. This is a sexy and sophisticated place with good food. Reserve the best table and make sure the candles are lit.
Then, after dinner, walk up the Campidoglio. The number of lovers on the steps overlooking the Forum is so sweet and pleasant. Everyone seems to be cuddling and kissing. Of course, part two won't work if the weather is bad.
Hop a taxi or walk over to the Trevi fountain, get her a rose as suggested above, and throw your coins in, over your shoulders, wishing for a speedy return.
Now that's a night in Rome.
