Planning out my 2nd trip to Paris, this time with more "touristy things" in mind?
What should I definitely not miss doing?

Spend the evening siting in a cafe in a prime location and watching the show. Then walking back to the hotel along the banks of the Seine.

Eiffel Tower! Orsay, Louvre, Notre Dame, walk around Ile St. Louis and get ice cream at that place on the corner, climb the Arc de Triomphe, walk the back streets between blvd St. Germaine and Pont St. Michel, shop at Gallerie Lafayette, the Opera, .....

In order of importance as well as a most popular tourist sites.. E.tower,Notre dame,Tulleries and place de R.,Arch de T.,Louvre,Champ de E.,Orsay,walk or boat along Siene,St Chapelle,Montmartre,cafe and shopping in marais,blvd St. Germaine, or rue cler areas...I would do these everytime....theres so much more too...so little time..

It has been asked many, many times before, but not by you. The Louvre, Musee d' Orsay, Pompidou Center, Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triumphe (yes, climb), and walk, walk, walk. We love Ile de la Cite, Marais, and the Latin Quarter, and enjoyed an evening ride on the Seine on our last summer trip. We don't have any money, so we stay at Hotel Muguet or another tiny hotel on Rue Cler. Also, if you're going in summer, take the train out to Giverny. It is rather magical. Enjoy!

Walking around is the one thing that every visitor to Paris should do. The rest is a matter of personal preference.

Depends if you like museums, fine dining, aeriel views, people watching, etc. What do you prefer to do when you travel, then you can narrow it down.

Having a nutella crepe from the stand on the corner of Boul St Germaine right at the church.

LOL Ira...I do believe it was at that particular stand that I discovered Nutella crepes. It was our second day in Paris and it was between lunch and dinner and we were looking for a little snack. We just came out of St. Germain church and we decided to try a crepe...needless to say it was the first of many. I have tried to recreate the nutella crepe at home but its just not the same as eating one on the streets in Paris.

A trip to the Musee D'Orsay and walking up the steps to the Sacre Couer and enjoying the view of Paris from the top of the church. In my opinion, the most spectacular view of the city.

One of our highlights in Paris was visiting St. Chapelle. The church and the stained glass...just gorgeous!

In my opinion, the one &quot;must-do&quot; that doesn't get mentioned enough in these threads is the self-guided tour of the Opera Garnier. It's easy to get to, doesn't take long to see, and is <i>tres</i> impressive.

Of course, there is no shortage of &quot;must-do's&quot; that <b>do</b> get mentioned in these threads.

The highlight of my second trip to Paris was a night ride with Fat Tire Bike Tours. Riding a bike through the courtyards of the Louvre with a full moon hanging over the city was pretty cool! The ride ends with a cruise along the Seine. It's a beautiful vantage point from which to see the Eiffel Tour at night. Here's a link:
