Taxi from Rome Termini
Hello,
I want to thank everyone who helped me with my questions about purchasing trenitalia tickets. I appreciate it.
I have come across another question. I will be traveling from Venice to Rome one morning, arriving in Rome in the afternoon. My hotel is located in central Rome so I want to take a taxi to the hotel. I want to be sure I go to the right place though. Is there only one exit from the Rome Termini? If there is more than one I want to make sure I exit where there will be the taxi lineup. Is it true that there are taxis lined up right outside of the Termini station? Do you just go up to a Taxi and ask them to drive you or is there some sort of a stand or something insider or outside where you first arrange for a taxi? Is there going to be people lined up to get a taxi outside of the termini or something? Will there be directions or something? Sorry if this seems obvious. I appreciate any help.

The taxi queue is pretty self explanatory. There will be a line of taxis pulling up. If it's busy there may be a line of people waiting - just get in line & it'll move quickly.
When it's your turn you tell the taxi driver where you want to go - a print out of hotel & address is handy if you aren't comfortable conversing, but not really required.
If it's not busy there will be a few taxis waiting - just go up to the one in front and off you go.
It'll cost about 12-15Euro to get to your hotel, depending on distance, # bags, etc.

Yes, right outside the train station.
I don't remember exactly all the exits, but either look for taxi signs or if you exit the wrong way, then walk around. There are free luggage trolleys to use - grab one and it'll help you get around easier.
Taxis are all beige colored.

So far as I know, there are two taxi stands, one is right in the front of Termini, facing bus terminal; the other is by the side entrance.
From my experience, it will be less confusion to have the hotel name and address on a piece of paper.

The taxi stand was to the right of the main exit last October. It had been moved. Make sure you do not go with any driver who approaches you, go straight to the line. There is a little board there that explains the prices.
