Taxi Fare Rome
How much would a taxi cost from central Campo di Fiori to Termini train station? Isn't the express to the airport from there about 9-11 Euros? My son and his girlfriend will need transportation to the airport and I'm looking at the cheapest way. We'll have a larger group when we arrive and I'm getting shuttle service but that's kind of expensive for only 2 people on the trip back to the airport.

Hi Blondie - From Campo de' Fiori it's quicker (- and cheaper) to catch the train from Trastevere station (- rather than Termini).
Trains leave from Trastevere every 15 mins for FCO airport.
Fare: €5.50; journey time 25 mins.
Trastevere station is a short bus or taxi ride from Campo de' Fiori/ Largo Argentina.
(A taxi should cost less than € 10)
Hope this helps ...

<<Taxi to Termini would run €12-15 should they choose that route.>>
And then another €9.50 per person for the Leonardo Express train, so €30-35--almst the price of a shuttle door to door.

Saving 20 euros for travelers on a budget is a good saving. About 30 dollars.
You can also take the bus from Largo Argentina to Trastevere or to Termini (#40 or #64) for one euro.
This way a traveler may get to FCO from Rome's centro Storico for about 7-11 Euro - Much cheaper than a shuttle.

My taxi from Campo to Trastevere cost as much as my Termini-Campo fare, so the benefit of using Trastevere would be saving on train fare only, about 6E/person. If they use the Argentina-Trastevere tram, that would cost only 1E each.
The Trastevere line is a bargain to FCO, but it has its drawbacks -- it is really a commuter train that can be packed with standees and no room for baggage during rush hour and has reduced service (one train per hour instead of four) on weekends and holidays.
