Portugal late Sept. clothing
Hi!
I'm back. Still hoping for restaurant favorites from my last post. Now the question is clothing for the Minho, Allentejo and Lisbon. Will mountains be cold and require warm clothing in Minho? Are the styles summer whites etc. or fall darker tones in these regions? Sleeveless or long sleeves? Looking forward to getting your advice. Thanks.

It will still be hot in Lisbon in September, temperatures hovering between 85 to 90F. Portugal is a Catholic, conservative country. You will not see men wearing shorts on the streets of Lisboa unless they are exercising. You usually will not see women in shorts or skirts too far above the knee. Sleeveless blouses would be OK. Liboans also tend to wearing conservative colours--black, grey, white, brown, dark green. It would be odd to see someone dressed in red, but that doesn't mean that you will be stared at if you do. I can't comment on Minho or Allentejo, as I have never been there. If you go to Fatima, it will be much cooler than Lisboa.

To ThinGorjus - what about footwear in early October for Lisbon, Oporto, Evora areas, as well as Madeira? Any open toes or sandals that late, or would suede walking boots be pushing the winter season? Thanks - Claire

Chanel's fall/winter collection is perfect. Really beautiful pieces that are simply perfect for all occasions. Some of the pieces were even shown on men on the runway to emphasise their versatility. If you can't have Chanel then try to emulate that look.
