Paris Christmas Markets

Hey, all...

We're off to Paris next week and wondering if there are any great Christmas Markets in Paris. We're not looking to do any side trips (we only have a week!)

I thought I heard there was one under Grande Arche. Is that true? If so, does anyone know what days it's open? Hours?

Any other markets we shouldn't miss? We'll be in the 6th (bordering the 5th and the river). But we're looking forward to exploring the entire city.

Is Christmas in full swing in Paris by Dec. 1?

DH and I just returned and it looked like they were setting up a market along what I call the 'lower' Champs Elysees. the area from FDR to Concorde had white a-frame huts going up on each side of the Champs that sure looked like they would be for a market. The windows at the Grand magasins are already done, as well as the inside of the stores (the tree is up in Galleries Lafayette) and GL is all lit up at night. In prior trips, I recall one in the courtyard in front of St. Sulpice, as well as one in the Alsacian tourist office on the Champs Elysees. Have a great time.

Yes, La Defense (Grande Arche) has what the Paris Tourist Office says is Paris' largest Christmas market.

Although the Christmas Market at La Grande Arche maybe the biggest, the village that is being set up on Place Saint Sulpice will have artisanal regional foods and real crafts (not commercially manufactured). Most of the merchandise from the other markets are Made in China. The Saint Sulpice Market will be from December 10-24. That's the one I'm going to.

I understand there will be one on the Rond-Point de Champs Elysees but I do not have the dates on that one.

Enjoy your sejour in Paris!

Bummer. The Place Saint Sulpice market sounds wounderful, but we will be States-bound on Dec. 6!

The Aura Video Station at www.aura.net
It is a wonderful device.I recommend using an Aura Camera, which is specifically designed for displaying aura and printing aura photos via a computer interface.

Aura Cameras are used to give individuals a visual representation their bio energetic state. Based on such biofeedback technologies and Galvanic Skin Response and Skin Temperature, Aura Cameras can measure these physiological inputs and then convert this information into digital displays through a computer interface. The resulting display is typically a depiction of what is traditionally known as the human aura and chakra.

Some aura photography machines run in real time, giving the participant the ability to see changes from one moment to another. Others take still Polaroid pictures and do not run through a computer interface. The advantage of a real time aura system is having the capability to display the effects of products or services rendered during the session.

Another aspect of aura imaging systems is their ability to print extensive reports for given sessions. Please note only aura cameras that interface with a computer are able to accomplish this feature. The printing of reports can be a simple postcard size photo cards to multiple page documents detailing numerous bio data information.

Does the biofeedback help in counteracting the shopping urge?

The big one at the Rond-point on the Champs-Elysees this year is scheduled from Nov. 20th thru Dec. 28th. I think that would be a good one just because the Champs-Elysees is one of the most illuminated streets, so you can see all that.

Just got back from Paris-Madrid.
We went to the Champs Elisee market on the 20th, the night it opened. It was so much fun to explore the different vendors. Everything from crepes to wine to hot chocolate...and trinkets and gifts for the whole family. There was a festive vibe and everything was lit up! I was dying for a Belgian waffle but walked by the stand on my way to dinner. Should have had the waffle--still dreaming about it.
