Oslo Taxis from Airport to City Center
Does anyone know the cost of a taxi from the Oslo airport to central Oslo?
Is there a flat rate fare? Can advance reservations be made?
Any recommendations for specific companies would be welcome.
Thanks

Taxi 2 have flat and the most affordable rates. From Oslo airport to central Oslo it will be NOK 400,- (some 50€). Questions and reservations: http://www.taxi2.no/pages/view/39003
The train (Flytoget) is NOK 170,- (a cut above 20€).

The last time we went from the airport to Oslo we were told that there is a local train to Oslo and it cost half the price of the fast train. We took the local as it is only a few minutes slower and was a very nice train. You might want to check to see if this is still available.
Also, the train was very easy getting on and off - no problem and very convenient.

You might also want to consider to travel by airport bus. If you final destination is not in the city center, there may be an airport bus that takes you quite close to where you are going. And they are cheaper than the airport express train.
There is a public transport information counter in the outer arrival hall of the airport.
@bratsandbeer: Regarding using the local train. There are actually two different types of local trains departing from the airport to the Oslo central station.
The one you took was probably a regional train. Those only stop at Lillestrøm before Oslo central station and use the same track as the airport express train. The journey time is 26 minutes.
The "real" local train stops at a number of stations between the airport and Lillestrøm and for parts of the journey use a longer, older track. The journey time is 37 minutes, approaching twice that of the airport express train.
Local trains from the airport to Oslo central station depart every hour, sometimes every half hour and the cost is NOK 110.
It is important to buy your ticket from a vending machine or the ticket counter at the airport before boarding the train. If you buy from the conductor, NOK 20 is added to the ticket price.
