Getting to Chantilly and Mont St- Michel from Paris without a car?
I'm in Paris for the next three weeks and would love to take side trips to both Chantilly and Mont St-Michel (and/or any other place that you think I definitely have to visit).
Can anyone advise on the easiest ways to get to these places by train or bus? I don't have a car and while I do have an international drivers license, I'd rather not rent if I can avoid it. (I'm not the greatest driver.)
Thank you for your help! And apologies if this has been posted before... I can't seem to search on IE7.

There are trains from the Gare du NOrd to Chantilly. The ride takes about 30 minutes. I've never trained there, but I seem to recall the train station wasn't too much of a hike from the château - I'm sure someone else here will know.
Le MSM is a bit of a trek. I believe the best way is to take the TGV from the Gare Monparnasse to Rennes and connect with a bus that will take you to le MSM. Or you can take the TGV to Rennes or a regional train to Caen and connect to a bus that will take you to Pontorson, from which you'll have to walk over the causeway.
You can check www.sncf.com for schedules, but I think you're looking at about a 4-hour trip each way.
