fredericksborg slot
We have only 2 days in Copenhagen but have friends who are urging us to visit Fredericksborg Castle outside of Copenhagen. I think you can get there by bus/train. How long does that take? Would it be worth it to go our 2nd day in the morning and come back to go to Tivoli for late afternoon/evening? We're traveling w/2 teens!

Hi Peggi,
Definitely go. You can easily do it as a daytrip.
See http://wictor.dk/wictor/frederiksborg/frbslotgb.html
It's about 40 min by train from Koebenhavn to Hilleroed

By all means, go. It's a very impressive castle. We actually saw that one and then took a train to Helsingor to see Kronborg ("Hamlet's Castle" and made it back to Copenhagen by 6PM, in time to spend the evening at Tivoli. Tivoli is really best seen at night. It's only semi-impressive by day, but at night, all lit up, it becomes a magical place, with some of the world's best people-watching. If your teens are coaster enthusiasts, they will be able to ride the oldest continually-operating roller coaster in the world there.
