Make a visit to the Original Hard Rock Cafe on Picadilly in Mayfair.
Just celebrated 30th anniversary.
Stop in the Hard Rock Store to tour "THE VAULT" All the thing s stored can be touched and looked at. One of the items in THE VAULT is Eric Clapton's guitar. He was the first to donate an item. After that, the stars started donating. It is pretty interesting stuff.

I did a search on google for Tickets to London's Royal Albert Hall and one of the links produced a ticket broker with a few limited tickets. You may want to check this out as well as others that might come up.

I saw Clapton in Houston last year on his Reptile tour and he was fabulous!

http://www.londonticketshop.co.uk/topsellers.html

Debi....

I am also a big Clapton fan and so is my Mom. Everytime we take a trip to the UK she would always asks or try to find out if he was playing somehwere in the area. Though, I don't think location would matter much for my Mom...she would go to the ends of the earth to see him. She tried to get tickets for the London show when he started his 'final' tour in 2001...too late...but, wound up seeing him at Madison Square Garden instead. Tomorrow, a new CD/DVD is being released of that tour, 'One More Car One More Rider'...his rendition of "Over The Rainbow" is simply INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!
Good luck!!!!!!!

Hi, Debi -

If your husband is a seasoned concert-goer, he might have a better idea than the rest of us what kind of markup you can reasonably expect on a "hot" ticket like this. I don't know whether 500% is a reasonable markup or not! -) )

That said, you will almost certainly find scalpers on the street outside the hall the night of the concert - you just have to decide what you're willing to spend. Another thread suggested trying ticket brokers and looking at newspaper ads when you get to London, if you're there far enough in advance - at least that way you don't have to make a split-second decision!

Good luck! If it's any consolation, it sounds like it would have been pretty frustrating to get tickets even if you had know about it the day they started selling them - see the website below:

http://abbeyrd.best.vwh.net/news/911...artribute.html

heres a website with most of the ticket agents on it:

http://www.uk250.co.uk/Tickets/Tickets2.htm

As to price I would expect to pay around £100 outside for the cheaper tickets at the minimum.

It may be worth contacting The Albert hall and asking about any hospitality packages (ie a glass of warm wine and spam sandwich) which include a ticket.

Stacy, my failure to get tickets is understandable...after reading the website you referenced I feel much better. I haven't failed I was much too late and didn't have a chance considering all the loyal fans of such incredible musicians. What a terrific event.....
David, thanks for your ideas, if there are scalpers I'm sure they will be looking for a week's pay considering the popularity of the event......

Debi, you might check out a copy of Fodor's book, "Rock and Roll Traveler/ Great Britain and Ireland." There's a couple of references to Eric in there. If I were you, and no tickets pop up via the brokers, you should at least visit Albert Hall and see if a "tout" will sell you one right before the show. (Sometimes if you're willing to wait until after curtain time, they will sell it to you cheaper. It just depends!) Good luck. I know it will be a tremendous evening.
