CAPRI OR RAVELLO FOR HONEYMOON??? PLEASE HELP!!!

My fiance and I are getting married this May in Tuscany and will spend our 4 nights of honeymoon either in Capri OR Ravello. We have reserved 4 nights in Palazzo Sasso in Ravello and also 4 nights in the Capri Palace in Anacapri. Both hotels require a min 4 night stay since it's a holiday weekend. It is a very hard decision and I'm not sure what will be the best. Also, we will have a car and we're worried about parking in the coast while we're in Capri. Recommendations are appreciated. Thanks!

I adore Ravello. Stunning views. And the car makes the decision easier for me. The whole coast will be more accessible to you from there. I vote Ravello.

Capri is beautiful, of course, but with all of the daytrippers seems more touristy to me.

My vote also goes to Ravello. Because you will have the car to drive around if you like, because Ravello is much, much less overrun with day trippers than Capri, and because the Palazzo Sasso has an impecccable reputation.

"We have reserved 4 nights in Palazzo Sasso in Ravello and also 4 nights in the Capri Palace in Anacapri."

For this month? And you're about to cancel one of your reservations?

Please do so as soon as possible. Both of these hotels have probably been turning away prospective guests, who've been disappointed and had to book elsewhere.

I love them both, but I'd vote for Ravello as well, especially since you want to spend 4 nights. Buon viaggio!

It depends on what you want to do. You could possibly spend a leisurely day in Ravello going through the tiny shops, seeing the churches, visiting all of the hotels, and the gardens, sitting at cafes and restaurants. The nearest real town (Amalfi) is 20-30 minutes away by car, and everything beyond that is considerably farther. Because of its remote location, Ravello is not a good base for seeing the area. The charm of staying in Ravello is doing very little while taking in the wonderful vistas. If you like hiking, there are also very nice hikes to be had from Ravello. Palazzo Sasso is lovely, and is smaller than the Capri Palace. Capri has a lot more shopping (a good bit of which is very expensive/upscale), and requires much less traveling time to see the sights. Also, Anacapri is one of my favorite places. However, if you have never been, then a drive along the Amalfi Coast is a must and would sway me toward Ravello. It just depends on how much driving you want to do, and how confident you are in your ability to navigate the Amalfi Coast road -- see other posts on this. There is also very good bus service along the Amalfi Coast, but this will lengthen your travel time even more. Whichever hotel and location you decide on, you will not be disappointed.
