I have found some cheaper airfare to Paris from Atlanta with 1 stop but the final carrier is Air India. Does anyone know about that airline? Also I would love some advice about where to stay in Paris in late May early June. There are 3 of us and would like something in the $200 - $300 a night range.

Last September we flew Air India Chicago to London. No complains. It was a direct flight and they serve Johnnie Walker Red gratis in economy.

Air India has been the cheapest carrier for JFK-Paris for the last several years. Before that it was Pakistan International Airlines for JFK-Paris. I haven't taken Air India on the route, but I took PIA a number of times with no problem.

If you can spend so much on a hotel, I am surprised that you are looking at such cheap air fares. Just take a look at the incredible variety of hotel prices proposed by www.accorhotels.com and you may find something to your liking.

$900 each doesn't feel cheap for airfare but it is better than $1100 to $1200. We want a nice place but would like to get it as inexpensive as possible. I haven't seen much for 3 people any cheaper but I don't know where to look. The big chains are that much or more and many don't have rooms for 3. That's why I thought real people who had been would know. Thanks

Air India is fine...I've flown them to India and they are no better and no worse than most non-Asian airlines. (Better than the American carriers; not as good as the top Asian ones.)

I, too, remember those PIA flights to Paris. I asked once for a seafood meal and they gave me the shellfish from First Class!

Air India is a good airline, as for Paris hotels, try booking.com Lots of good cheap hotels around "Gare du Nord"better to get at least a 3 star hotel as less ones tend to be grubby and have small rooms.

I may be wrong, but I don't think I have ever heard anyone mention gare du nord, as an ideal place to stay for a first time to Paris. I think it is better to be where the main sights are, plus the neighborhoods are really nice. The hotels I listed have really good reviews on tripadvisor.

I have flown Air India from JFK to Delhi. The food is pretty good-I ordered kosher meals. On the return, they ran out of kosher meals so I had a Parsi meal--it was delicious.

Bring Lysol with you as the bathrooms can get filthy.

Indian people can be very casual on flights, taking off shoes and socks. The plane can end up smelling like feet. Just go with the flow, drink heavily, take a Darvocet, and you will be AOK. Cheers, sweetie darling.

Nothing wrong with Gare du Nord, very french neighbourhood, after all that what you are there for isnt it?Much better european flavour.

I agree that Gare du Nord is a good hotel area with all sorts of options. The best hotel is the Mercure Terminus Nord, but there are dozens of other possibilities.

The whole area facing the train station was recently renovated and it looks great. Probably a lot of people here have memories of how it looked before.

Venere.com is a good place to shop Paris hotels for 3 in a room, but double check the rates - sometimes they're higher than directly through the hotel, though they are often lower as well.
