Um...
Very objective decision, didnt take much - sounds like you were looking for an excuse
Why not go to one of those sites where they compare accident records for various airlines... anyone remember a site address?
Sheesh
I know many people who have travelled on air india with no probs

'k', you may regard rats on board an airline as not 'much' but I consider it to be unacceptable. Air India may have excellent air safety records, I don't know, however,I'd rather pay £50.00 more(American Airlines, BA, or Virgin) after hearing this fact, just for peace of mind. Many thanks for the extra info. that some of you have provided.

Hi,
I have been pondering the same delema. I have decided to spend the extra money & go w/ another airline this time, as I am flying w/ my older mother. I have been told that the flights leaving from LAX & NYC to Europe are new Boeing planes & better staff. I noticed Condor had some good airfares recently, but unfortunely they do not leave from my area. Good luck.

Hi Jack
In 1981 I took Air India RT to London. The planes were huge and comfortable and the flight attendants were very polite and respectful. I remember being fed twice within one flight and the Indian food was really ok. The movies were in Hindu so I'd suggest taking some other activities with you.

Did fly Air India to Singapore last year. To kenya in 2001. They are much better than most American airlines when it comes to service, friendly/hospitable staff....however, not even close to product offered by some of the better European/SE Asian airlines....
