Disney Resort vs. Nickoldeon Hotel

We (self, spouse, preschooler & toddler) are planning a trip for next summer and we were wondering which hotel to stay in. Our 4 year old son has seen numerous commercials for the Nick Hotel - Holiday Suites and insists on staying there. We are wondering if the on site Disney hotels would be better. Anyone recommendations?

It's a personal preference, but I enjoy WDW MUCH more if I stay on site.
Go to www.disboards.com and
www.mousesavers.com for great advice and information.

Staying on the property has many advantages IMO to include transportation to and from the various parks, superior service for the most part, not to mention ambience to include the possibility of character breakfasts, etc.

Some of these would not cross a child's mind but sometimes you have to help them understand their desires are not the only consideration.

Love the nick hotel--definitely stay there it is awesome. Kids have such amenities--own check in, manicure/pedicures, lip synch, clown magic shows, arcades, rooms with bunkbeds/themed rooms. Itis tons of fun

My thoughts exactly Alice.

The Disney Resorts are the standard to which all is judged. Stay onsite.

Truly, Disney is the gold standard in the hospitality industry.

Your child will have so much fun at WDW, he'll forget about the Nick Hotel. You really do want the convenience of staying onsite at WDW. There are lots of fun activities at the WDW hotels for kids. If you can afford to stay on the WDW property, do it.

Here's a great site for pictures of the Disney Resorts: http://disneyworldlinks.com/Resort-Park-Presentations/

Just be sure to click on the area that the line points to - not on the words themselves.

We've stayed a All-Star Movies, All-Star Sports, Pop Century, Port Orleans Riverside, and the Beach Club. They were all great.

Stay at both. We enjoy staying on-site at WDW but also enjoy a day or two at Universal Studios and other Orlando attractions. The flexibility of many dining options and the use of the trolley makes the off-site stay less stressful. Granted, moving hotels can be a hassle but may be worthwhile.
