Ladera or Ladera/jalousie hilton combo? Any opinions?

We are planning to go to St. Lucia in August. We have the choice of either going to Ladera for the whole time or to Ladera for the first 2 nights and then jalousie hilton for the remaining 4 nights. We have read such great reviews on Ladera and some recent mixed good and bad reviews on jalousie which makes us a little nervous. Are the rooms and food at Jalousie up to the same quality as Ladera? We would appreciate any opinions on if we should stay at Ladera for the week or just a couple nights. Entertainment , # of restaurants, etc. is not an issue.
Also, since Ladera has no A/C, is it very hot at night? Thanks!

The advantage of staying at the Jalousie Plantation (it's no longer a Hilton) is that it's actually on the beach; however, it's the closest beach to Ladera, and in years past, it's where Ladera guests were taken by their beach shuttle. The Jalousie villas are actually spread out on a hillside and in separate buildings, while the Ladera villas are in interconnecting buildings. St. Lucia can get hot in August, though there is usually a breeze blowing on the hills at Ladera. Still, if you are used to a/c, I think you may have not like not having it.

It's not worth moving from Ladera to the Hilton. As Ladera guests, you get to use the Hilton beach anyway or the Anse Chastanet beach. It would make more sense if you are going to split your time, to stay farther north at Ti Kaye Village or Royal St. Lucian

We stayed at Jalousie ----which is now Jalousie Plantation and not Hilton----for two weeks last year and going for 9 nights in July after 4 nights in Bequia. Have children also, but highly recomend Hilton----between the Pitons and very nice. However, if you want romance Ladera is even higher up the mountain and the Pitons--specatcular view and the food there at Dasheen was the best we had other than the Coal Pot in Castries and the lunch at Anse Chastanet. Both Ladera and Anse have no A/C. Ladera is higher up and felt cooler to me. I looked at both rooms and Ladera is enchanting---Anse too just not as high up and the beach is busier. We did consider Ti-Kaye---specatular setting and quiet. It really depends on what you want!!!!

If only 6 nights--stay put a Jalousie and do like we did and cab it to Dasheen to eat dinner.

I totally agree with Croix. St. Lucia in August....you'll want the A/C at the Jalousie.
